The Property

This spacious one bedroom cottage is the perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway and babes in arms are welcome too. It is finished to a high standard throughout with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern it has a wood-burning stove, off street parking, and a sunny south-facing garden.

Braecote is the ideal base from which to explore the historic city of York, the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Dales and the fabulous East coast.

Newburgh Priory, Byland Abbey and Shandy Hall are all a short walk away. If you’re eating out the Michelin starred Black Swan at Oldstead is close by and the traditional Fauconberg Arms pub is just up the road. The Carlton Inn, Carlton Husthwaite and The Stayplton Arms in Wass are both excellent.

For shopping, the Georgian market town of Easingwold is fifteen minutes away has a great range of independent shops, cafes and pubs. York is half an hour’s drive or take the bus from the village or the train from Thirsk.

Accommodation

When you arrive there will be tea, coffee and biscuits and milk in the fridge. The kitchen overlooks the quiet, sunny south-facing garden and has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge with freezer box and everything you should need to create a delicious meal in for two.

In the sitting room you will find books, games, puzzles and dvds as well as maps and information on the local area. The wood-burner will ensure that you stay cozy and warm (first basket of logs supplied and more available).

With a comfy king-size bed and high quality bedding we are sure you will have a good nights sleep and wake refreshed to views over to the Hambleton Hills.

The light, bright bathroom has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail.

All linens are supplied.

There is a dedicated parking space at the back of the cottage. Unfortunately, due to steps at the front and rear of the cottage, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.

We’re sorry but we don’t allow pets or smoking in the property.
