Braecote is a peaceful, warm, and welcoming one-bedroom cottage in the picturesque village of Coxwold. With wide grass verges, and honey coloured stone houses, Coxwold is one of the prettiest villages in North Yorkshire. The traditional Fauconberg Arms is just up the road and the Michelin starred Black Swan at Oldstead and The Abbey Inn, Byland are a short drive away. The cottage is ideally placed for weddings at Newburgh Priory too.
The Georgian market town of Easingwold has a great range of independent shops, cafes and pubs.. York, Harrogate, Helmsley and Malton are close by, and the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and east coast are all within easy reach. If you don’t want to drive, York is easy to get to by bus from the village or train from Thirsk.
Accommodation
The cottage is finished to a high standard with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern furniture. It has a wood-burning stove, (logs and kindling are supplied from October to March), a sunny south-facing garden and off street parking. All linens and the first basket of logs are included in the price.
Unfortunately, due to steps at the front and rear of the cottage, it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Once inside, the cottage is step-free.
- Kitchen: The well-equipped kitchen has everything you should need to make the most of the local food and drink, and there will be tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to welcome you. Store cupboard basics are provided (salt, pepper, sugar, oil, herbs etc) and cleaning essentials too.
- Bedroom: King-size bed, good quality cotton bedding, (line dried when possible!), hairdryer.
- Living area: Wood burner, (logs and kindling are supplied October to March) and the first basket of logs is free with more available to buy .TV with Freeview, DVD player, books, games, maps, information on the area and suggestions for walks.
- Bathroom: Bath with shower over, and heated towel rail
- Outside: Sunny south facing garden with table and chairs. Parking space for one car.
